RequirementsProfessional experience as a sailor
• Valid and stamped River service record
• Ability to communicate in English for navigation/mooring purposes
• Ability to communicate in English with guests and company personnel
• Good social skills and ability to interact with guests
• Team player
• Organised and dependable personality with a strong sense of responsibility
• First aid and breathing apparatus training is desirable but not a requirement
Role and Responsibilities
• Represent the company values and visions
• Ensure a professional and courteous service while managing the daily operations
• Maintain company standards and operating procedures
• Ensure the safety of the ship, the crew, and the passengers
• Adhere and enforce the company “Safety Management” plan
• Execute all nautical and safety maintenance
• Interact with guests courteously
• Assist with safety equipment checks and ship maintenance, following company protocols
Side Tasks
• Assist captain with preparations and execution of winter repairs
• Assist with other duties such as luggage service, loading, and garbage off-loading
• Attend all safety drills
• Report any accidents or incidents to the captain
• Identify “near miss” situations accordingly and follow up with reports
• Participate in scheduled trainings, briefings, and meetings
